Toowoomba Event 2007
September 24th, 2007 by Pawel in Other EventsThe event went really well in terms of the wonderful spirit of the occasion. Everyone I spoke to enjoyed the program and it was great to meet new people again this year. It was especially nice to have one of our LC Forum members (Blonde Madonna), who lives in Victoria, drop in for yesterday’s program!
Henning did his usual sensitive and beautiful performance of Leonard’s poetry to music and this was well received. Ann Vriend had to battle with a bad head cold and was jet-lagged and tired, but delighted the audience. Despite her unwell condition, she performed well beyond expectations and was a big hit with everyone, many of whom purchased her CDs.

September 10th, 2007 by Kim in Other Events
Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn is an accomplished Canadian artist, who is well known to many Edmontonians. Larisa was born in Edmonton and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art & Design from the University of Alberta.
Larisa’s works are bold and colourful. Her preferred medium is water colour. Larisa particularly enjoys painting still-life and floral images, and loves to research and incorporate informative details into each of her compositions. Her artistic style is unique. Over the last 20 years Larisa has created a method whereby she incorporates a sculptural ripped paper technique which accentuates the realistic, 3-dimensional quality of her work.
Larisa’s artistic accomplishments have reached far into the community. She is known both for her illustrations of children’s books and school texts, as well as her fine art paintings.
