Krakow Balice Airport - Kazimierz

The simplest way:
- TAXI - approx. 70 PLN - ATTENTION! Beware of illegal taxi drivers. I’d suggest using only the taxis with roof light

http://tanietaxi.com.pl/taxi_krakow.html

The cheaper way (train+tramway):
- shuttle train (Airport-Main Railway Station) - http://www.krakowairport.pl/en/3/176/35
- take tram #7 (direction Kurdwanow), step off at Starowislna/Miodowa (3 stops from the railway station)

Kazimierz - Manggha Center (the main venue)

tram #19 or 22, from Dietla Street - direction Borek Falecki, step off at Most Grunwaldzki (3 stops - just after crossing the Vistula River).

Tram ticket price:
2,50 PLN (no time limit but no transfers allowed),
1,80 PLN (15 min. time limit, transfers allowed)
3,10 PLN (60 min. time limit transfers allowed)

You may consider buying another type of ticket:
24 hr ticket - 10,40 PLN
48 hr ticket - 18,80 PLN
72 hr ticket - 25,00 PLN
7 day ticket - 38,00 PLN

All tickets must be validated immediately after boarding the tram/bus.

Tram/bus maps can be found here:

Leonard Cohen Event, Krakow 2010 - The Invitation

2009-02-01 by Sebastian in General, Krakow

Ladies and Gentlemen, Cohenites of the world, friends,

Continuing the tradition of international meetings for Leonard Cohen fans I have the pleasure to invite you to the next Leonard Cohen Event which will take place in Krakow, Poland on 6-8th August 2010.

Krakow, in contrast to the previous cities, is not a place which had the privilege of becoming a hallmark in Leonard Cohen’s life or career. Though it is probable Cohen has never visited Krakow, still you can find here places which are not unlike those connected with our Artist. Krakow is a city of culture, a city that never sleeps, a city of artists, students (and … tourists), the district of Kazimierz is an important centre of Jewish culture. Cohen simply fits here.

We assume that the programme for the Krakow Event will be largely based on programmes of the previous events. We are planning concerts, an open-mic session, sightseeing, small gifts, but, first of all, we would like this event to be an opportunity to meet like-minded old friends and acquaintances from all over the world, like-minded also with .

All the information on the event will be available on The Files: http://leonardcohenfiles.com/krakow-index.html and on the event website: http://leonardcohenevent.info/

If you have any suggestions, questions, or if you simply want to tell the world you are going to Krakow - you’re welcome to use the The Leonard Cohen Forum.
If you would like to help the organizers, or if you have an interesting idea how to make the Krakow event even better, we’re waiting for your suggestions.

You can contact the organizing committee at krakow2010@leonardcohenevent.info

On behalf of the organizing comitee,

Sebastian Korta

P.S. Bring your guitars!
