- The actual credit card transactions take place after the fact, once a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so if incorrect credit card info is entered that can be dealt with by a human being etc. The transaction is not automatic and real time while the person is registering.

You can have an “unlisted” registration, but most people want to see themselves as part of the list. It is $145 Canadian, about 100 Euros. Gives you premier seating at the events at the Winspear etc. More details of events and artists and venues will emerge over the next month or so.

The prices for the Westin are our prices specifically under the contract for the 2008 Leonard Cohen event. They will not change in coming months. It is OK to go ahead and book.

Other than reference to the Westin Hotel, in terms of proximity to the event location, there is no discussion as to the distances from the other recommended “accommodations” and the event centre.

The Holiday Inn Express and Days Inn are 5-6 blocks from the Westin and the Winspear. An easy walk. The university campus is a 5minute LRT ride from the hospitality suite at the Westin - and it is only a $7.50CAD taxi ride. All the venues we have planned (and hotels suggested) will be within an absolute MAXIMUM hour’s walk or $12 cab ride of the Westin Hotel and the Winspear.
Tori will deal with registration questions rearrangements etc. tomorrow.
Leonard Cohen will not be attending the event.

I am trying to work out which hotel/hostel to book. However, for most of the activities, the location is not supplied with the activity (e.g. where is ‘registration’). Or for some given locations, there is no entry on the ‘Event Location’ page (e.g. Masonic Hall). Can somebody put all necessary locations on a map and supply all locations for each activity? Maybe then I’ll be able to work out which hotel/hostel to book.

Registration and most activities are in the Westin Hotel. The Winspear Concert Hall is just across the street from the Westin. We are working on interactive maps of both downtown and the University area, as well as a noninteractive map of Whyte Ave. so you will have a better idea of the wealth of interesting places to go and things to see!

Starting the evening of March 3rd there was a glitch in the registration software that caused it to reject valid credit cards. This was corrected this morning. We are very sorry about the problem. If you tried during this period of March 3-31 to register and were unsuccessful you can just start the registration process again and it will be successful. If you were already assigned a registration number from before you can abandon it and it will be eliminated as an unpaid duplicate. Now that this problem has resolved registrations have tripled! If you want to register without your name appearing on the registration list on this website you can Email Pawel Gorny with that request.

Hospitality and Registration (Indoors, near the booze and food, at the center of everything)
Security (keeping an eye on those of us too inebriated to sleep and making sure no-one ransacks the room between 3-7am)
The Picnic (working with Tori to organize food/activities for the friday afternoon picnic party - outdoors!)
Tour Leaders (You don’t need to be local - Ideally, I want to pair one Edmontonian and one international guest for each tour)
Decorations and Backstage (helping set up each night’s theme and running errands for the evening’s performers)
No lengthy Email needed, just write expressing interest.

For the people who have registered from outside of Edmonton, what’s the sense of accommodations? It would be great if we could stay close together.
